Editor's Take
By the Pogglo editorsOne glorious verb, 130 levels, and an arsenal that escalates from gloves to wrecking balls.
There is a specific joy in games built around a single verb, and in Punchy Guy that verb is punch. Click or tap an enemy and your fighter lets fly, sending them careening into whatever the physics engine has thoughtfully placed nearby. The fun is not just the hit — it is the ricochet, the pile-up, the little obstacle course of consequences every strike sets off.
The game keeps its formula fresh by refusing to stick with fists. Across 130 levels the fist menu fills with increasingly over-the-top implements — gloves give way to ropes, wrecking balls, boxing balls and more — and each one changes how enemies fly and how you line up a satisfying chain. Swapping tools mid-campaign is where the replay energy lives.
Sessions are frictionless: punch, watch the chaos resolve, hit NEXT, repeat — which makes it dangerously easy to promise yourself just five more levels. If cathartic physics is your genre, the rest of our action games keep the momentum going.
Mouse click or tap an enemy to punch; choose unlocked abilities from the fist menu; press NEXT after clearing a level.
Controls: Mouse click or tap an enemy to punch; choose unlocked abilities from the fist menu; press NEXT after clearing a level. Works on desktop and mobile — keyboard or touch. If you lose, jump straight back in — quick retries are half the fun.
