Editor's Take
By the Pogglo editorsA grid block-puzzle done cleanly — drag shapes onto the 8x8, chain combo blasts, and pick your pace between endless and a structured run.
Drop a shape, fill a row, watch it blast away — Blocky Blast Journey works the familiar 8x8 block-puzzle groove and polishes it until it shines. You drag pieces onto the board to clear rows and columns, and when clears cascade they chain into combo blasts that keep the score ticking upward.
The nice touch is that it doesn't force one style of play. Classic mode is the pure infinite grind, built around a global leaderboard and the itch to top your own milestone. Journey mode gives that open-ended puzzle a spine instead — twelve levels with gem and target goals, so there's an actual finish line to reach rather than just a number to inflate.
It's built to stick around: full save progress, a three-step visual tutorial for newcomers, and eight languages. Controls flex to whatever you're on — drag with touch or mouse, or go full keyboard with number keys to pick a piece, arrows to nudge it, and Enter to place. That makes it an easy free browser game to keep open in a tab. The score chase runs through the leaderboard, and more puzzle games sit a click away.
Touch or mouse: drag blocks onto the 8x8 board. Keyboard: 1-3 select a piece, Arrow keys move it, Enter places it, Esc pauses.
